Member of Parliament for the Atwima Nwabiagya North constituency, Hon. Benito Owusu Bio has expressed with great shock the death of a colleague MP who was attacked and killed by armed robbers.
According to him contrary to the reports that the killers were armed robbers, he sees something beyond armed robbery.
He believes it was a planned attack and not robbery.
The NPP MP for the Mfantsepim Constituency in the Central region, Hon. Ekow Quansah was attacked and shot twice by some masked attackers believed to be armed robbers on Friday dawn.
But reacting to the death of his colleague in an interview, Hon. Owusu Bio rued that the MP’s death is a clear indication that the MP was not killed by mere armed robbers but something different that needs a very fast and thorough investigation.
“How possible do armed robbers hold only the MP in the midst of many others a hostage and shoot him, there’s something else that needs to be investigated”, he cried out.
He however pleaded with the security forces to speed up investigations into this unfortunate incident.
Describing his late colleague, Hon. Owusu Bio said the MP was a very nice person who was never seen begrudging anyone. “You will always see him smiling at things that make everyone angry”.
Indeed we’ve lost a very great one who was doing very well in the legislature, ”even he was a first timer” said Benito.
He finally sent a word of condolence to the family, constituents and loved ones of the late Quansah.
